Ethersmart-WiFi Software Drivers

Device drivers and full TCP/IP stack give your instrument embedded email, dynamic web service, serial tunneling, and other internet services.

This page directs you to the device driver routines that animate the EtherSmart and WiFi Wildcards. They provide functions for using the Wildcards as remote device servers that allow you to remotely control and access your application or device and all its digital and analog I/O.

Ethernet and WiFi device servers for remote access and remote control of instruments and I/O

The Ethersmart Wildcard and WiFi Wildcard share a common driver, named the Ethersmart-Wifi Software Driver. This is possible because both these Wildcards accomplish the same basic task: enabling your application to interact with other computers over the LAN (Local Area Network) or internet. They are based on Lantronix embedded TCP/IP server devices: the XPort on the EtherSmart Wildcard, and the WiPort on the WiFi Wildcard. You can plug one or more EtherSmart or WiFi Wildcards into any of Mosaic's microcontroller-based embedded computers including the QCard, QScreen, QVGA Board, PDQ Board, or Mosaic Handheld system to deliver the benefits of Ethernet or WiFi connectivity to your application. Using these drivers your local or remote instrument can serve dynamic web pages to any web browser.
