Single Board ComputersOur versatile board level computers are an ideal solution for data acquisition, measurement, control, signal processing, and communicatons. They integrate ample memory and input/output capability with ready-to-use software, all on palm-size boards. PDQ BoardTM![]() This palm size (2.5" by 4") single board computer fits any space-constrained applications and is ideal for instrumentation, industrial control, and data acquisition. The PDQ Board hosts a fast Motorola HCS12 microprocessor. This controller has a 16-bit data bus and uses a Phase Locked Loop to synthesize a 40MHz internal clock and 20MHz bus clock. The PDQ Board packs dozens of analog and digital I/O lines plus versatile serial communications links onto a compact board. It delivers 8 digital I/O lines with counter/timer capabilities, 8 pulse-width modulated (PWM) digital output signals, and 8 general purpose digital I/O lines. Additional I/O includes sixteen analog inputs with 10-bit resolution, dual RS232/485 ports with speeds to 256 KBaud, and synchronous SPI and IIC serial interfaces.
For a fast time to market, to rapidly prototype using the PDQ Board, order a PDQ Board Starter Kit (Part No. PDQB-SK), which includes a PDQ Board (p/n PDQB-RB) with 512 on-chip Flash, 512K RAM, and a real time clock; a 4" x2.5" version of the Docking Panle (p/n DP) to provide mechanical and electronic platform for your PDQ Board and for up to eight Wildcards; a 9 pin serial cable, an 8VDC wall-mount power supply and documentation QCard ControllerTM![]() This 2" by 2.5" single board computer fits any handheld or space-constrained applications and is well suited for interfacing to sensors and actuators in machine automation, industrial control, robotics, and scientific instrumentation. This tiny yet full-featured industrial controller sports a 16 MHz Motorola 68HC11F1 microprocessor, 512K Flash and 128K RAM, 320 bytes of EEPROM, 8 lines of programmable digital I/O, 8 lines of 8-bit analog-to-digital conversion, and dual RS232/485 ports. Use it alone or in combination with the PowerDockTM, the QCard's convenient mechanical and electronic platform.
For a fast time to market, to rapidly prototype using the QCard, order a QCard Starter Kit To communicate with the QCard via USB, order the QCSK-USB version which includes a USB to RS232 adapter cable.
QED-Flash Board![]() The NEW QED-Flash Board features a 256K EPROM memory, allowing you to compile directly into nonvolatile memory. This eliminates the need for a PROM burner, and allows you to upgrade units the field without changing memory chips. The QED-Flash Board also provides a direct cable interface to Toshiba and Hitachi graphics LCD displays. It also packs data acquisition, computation and control capabilities on a palm-sized surface-mount board. The board is ideal for machine automation, data acquisition, industrial control, robotics, and scientific instrumentation and is easily programmed in C, forth or Assembly using any PC. Built-in programming tools include an interactive debugger, multitasking executive and comprehensive libraries of device driver functions. This battery operable board provides 256K Flash EPROM and 128K SRAM on-board memory, 60 I/O lines including keypad and graphics display interfaces, timer-controlled I/O, 16 analog inputs, 8 analog outputs, quad high current drivers and dual serial ports. Could your application use Flash memory? Consider its benefits:
QED Digital I/O Board![]() This board delivers 8 high current isolated MOSFET outputs, 8 high voltage isolated inputs, and two relay outputs to control industrial equipment. Up to four Digital I/O Boards can be connected to each QED Board via the address/data bus, and the QED Industrial Control System backplane can accommodate one or two Digital I/O Boards. A separate onboard connector brings out 16 logic level signals with an industry standard pinout, so this board can be used to add simple digital I/O or to interface standard industrial I/O modules to any QED system. Each Digital I/O Board can drive two unipolar stepper motors at up to 3 Amps per phase. Pre-coded software running on the QED Board controls the stepper motors at up to 1000 full- or half-steps per second. The Stepper Motor Evaluation Kit (Part No. SMEVK-1) described in the "Accessories" section of this price sheet provides an easy way to start prototyping your stepper motor application. QED Analog Conditioning Board![]() This board provides customized signal conditioning of the QED Board's 24 analog I/O lines. The 8 analog outputs can be scaled to a 0-10 Volt range, and the 16 analog inputs are conditioned by instrumentation amps, differential amps, and op amps with selectable gain, filtering and excitation. Two 4 to 20 mA signaling channels are supported, and onboard cold junction thermocouple compensation makes temperature measurement easy. The board plugs directly into the QED Industrial Control System backplane, or it can interface to the QED analog I/O connector via a 40-pin ribbon cable. WildCard Carrier BoardTM![]() Expand the I/O of the QED Board with WildCards. Their modular design allow quick hardware and software integration of High Current control, additional serial ports, and Compact FLASH. The WildCard Carrier Board mates directly to a QED Board or Panel Touch Controller and provides addressing and power for up to eight WildCards at once. It also features an additional 128KB RAM and socketed 128KB FLASH, with custom versions providing up to 512KB RAM and 512KB FLASH. Ordering Information
