Single Board Computers for Embedded Systems
We offer low cost, low power industrial single board computers (SBC) with a set of complementary features including real time operating system software, device drivers, user interface, and expandable I/O. A successful alternative to pc104, our customizable embedded computers: the QCard - an 68hc11 microcontroller and the PDQ Board - a 68hcs12 microcontroller, are ideal for embedded applications, such as data acquisition, measurement, real time control, signal processing, and communications. Mosaic's single board computers integrate ample memory and input/output capability with ready-to-use embedded control software, all on palm-size boards.
Easy-to-use embedded programming tools
Our single board computers incorporate a full-time, on-board multitasking operating system called QED-Forth. QED-Forth is an interactive programmable macro language encompassing a real-time operating system (RTOS), object oriented graphical user interface (GUI) toolkit, debugging environment, an assembler, a math library for use within the Forth programming language, and a comprehensive set of pre-coded device drivers.
These built-in functions make it easy for you to get the most out of your SBC's computational and I/O capabilities. You can choose between the QED-Forth programming language, or the C language to program your SBC - the operating system's functions are accessible using either language.
Embedded webserver for your instrument controller
Turn your instrument into an embedded webserver by adding Mosaic's EtherSmart Wildcard, or a WiFi Wildcard. These modular boards measure just 2"x2.5" and stack directly onto your single board computer, enabling communications between your instrument and other computers or peripherals on the network. The EtherSmart/WiFi Wildcards implement a dynamic webserver that accepts connections from your web browser, serving out static or dynamic web pages. Your application program can send emails to alert other computers on the network when significant events occur. You can even "browse into" your instrument using a browser running on an online PC to monitor the status of your instrument.
Mix and match custom off the shelf embedded I/O
Need more I/O? In addition to Ethernet or wireless control, we offer GPS tracking, 16- or 24-bit resolution programmable gain A/D; 12-bit D/A; compact flash mass memory; AC or DC solid state relays; configurable digital I/O; additional RS232, RS422 or RS485; or high-voltage, high-current DC inputs and outputs.
This palm size (2.5" by 4") single board computer fits any space-constrained applications and is ideal for instrumentation, industrial control, and data acquisition.
The PDQ Board hosts a fast Motorola HCS12 microprocessor. This controller has a 16-bit data bus and uses a Phase Locked Loop to synthesize a 40MHz internal clock and 20MHz bus clock.
The PDQ Board packs dozens of analog and digital I/O lines plus versatile serial communications links onto a compact board. It delivers 8 digital I/O lines with counter/timer capabilities, 8 pulse-width modulated (PWM) digital output signals, and 8 general purpose digital I/O lines. Additional I/O includes sixteen analog inputs with 10-bit resolution, dual RS232/485 ports with speeds to 256 KBaud, and synchronous SPI and IIC serial interfaces.
