Digital I/O Board
Introduction to QED Digital I/O BoardVersatile Isolated I/O Simplifies AutomationThe QED Digital I/O Board provides an off-the-shelf solution for automation and control of industrial equipment. Compared to traditional PLC's, the QED solution delivers superior performance at low cost. Everything You Need For Programmable Machine ControlThe QED Digital I/O Board delivers 18 heavy duty isolated inputs and outputs to enable direct control of industrial equipment. Eight isolated outputs let you sink up to 3 amps and switch signals up to 60 volts DC. You can control motors, solenoids, heaters, valves, lamps and other actuators under computer control. Inductive loads are no problem; the required transient suppression circuitry is right on the board. The optical isolation allows the QED Board to control equipment running from widely varying power supplies in industrial environments. Two relay outputs let you control heavy duty AC loads. Controlling inductive loads is a snap - a unique transient suppression circuit combines surge clamping with RC snubbing for reliable low noise switching. Reading contact closures and digital signals in industrial environments is easy: just connect the board to the signal source and use the pre-coded routines to read the logic levels of the signals. The isolated inputs can monitor signals up to 50 volts. To control standard industrial control modules (made by Opto-22, Gordos, Greyhill, etc.) simply connect the Digital I/O Board's logic header to 16-channel industry standard control module boards via a 34 pin ribbon cable. The Digital I/O Board also provides an easy way to add TTL/CMOS compatible digital ports to the QED Board. Each Digital I/O Board adds one 8 bit input port and one 8 bit output port to the QED system. These memory-mapped ports are easy to use and provide versatile expansion of your system's capabilities.
